“I completed my secondary school education in 2014. The only available jobs were casual jobs at construction sites. I worked as a casual until 2016, when I met Mr. Patrick Githinji, a trainer at Eastlands College of Technology. Through his guidance, I was able to attend all admissions interviews and got enrolled in their Automotive Engineering course. For a while I lived at Muthurwa Block D, a house initially infested with bedbugs. I lived in that house until I finished my course in 2018.
After graduation, I worked for Simba Colt for a while and gained experience before joining Jamii Motor Limited along Ngong Road. I am very grateful to E.C.T. for everything they have done for me, including the lessons in Entrepreneurship and life skills. I now have active investments and got married in a church wedding on November 12, 2022.
My story exemplifies perseverance and the transformative power of technical education. I am venturing to another working station because I have the skills and knowledge that make me marketable. I remain forever grateful to ECT for equipping me with adequate skills and competence through the dual training system and rigorous mentorship programs.
Thank you, ECT, for being there to impact the community and, in fact, the boy child. My commitment now is to make an impact and give back to the community what I have.
That is my story.”
