The Prelate of Opus Dei Monsignor Fernando Ocariz on Wednesday, December 18, visited Eastlands College of Technology- a project of Strathmore Educational Trust. The Prelate arrived in Eastlands College of Technology, where he was received by the Chairman of the Board of the College, Dr. Godfrey Madigu and the Principal, Mr. Austin Omeno.
The Prelate was then given safety jackets and he was given a tour of the workshops by some of the students and teaching staff. Several of the students, during this tour, had the opportunity to ask him some questions relating to work environment and their professional work.
The tour ended at the College fields, where the Father planted a traditional African tree called Mwarubaini (or Neem) tree.
Finally the Father blessed a foundation stone for the new academic building, and a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and then thereafter the Principal Mr. Austin Omeno issued a College T-shirt to the Monsignor- The Prelate.
