On Saturday 9th December 2017, Eastlands College of Technology hoisted a rugby festival dubbed Springboard Sevens Touch Rugby Festival.The Springboard Sevens Touch Rugby Festival is a springboard to a new life, whose aim is to:
- Assist the post-secondary students use the platform to further their education.
- Give prospective players an opportunity to be scouted by various National and International Coaches.
- Expose high school students to teachers who can develop their study skills.
- Allow companies to interact with prospective college students and help in the recruitment drive or assist them to get job opportunities.

It was a festival that brought together partners and friends of Eastlands College of Technology and the first of them was Simba Foundation Rugby Team. The vision is to make this particular festival an annual event. Kudos to all those who made 2017 edition a success.
