On Monday, April 3rd 2017, specialized training of trainers in motor vehicle commenced in ECT. The course entailed training in specialized Body Works, Panel Beating and Spray Painting of motor vehicles. The facilitators at the event were: Mr. Georg Meier and Mr. Ralf. They were both brought in from Germany by the Germany chamber of commerce.
Mr. Georg Meier is an accident assessor: involved with evaluating vehicles which have been involved in accidents and then come up with an estimated amount of money required to repair or refunded by the insurance company.

Mr. Ralf is the owner of a vehicle body works company in Germany where he works. Apart from trainers at Eastlands College of Technology, the seminar also attracted participants from other training institutions such as Thika Technical Training College, St. Kizito Technical Training College. Also represented were the industrial partners such as Simba colt Motors.
The participants were grateful for this rare opportunity they got to train and work along such experts of reputable excellence. They were optimistic that the training they got will enable them to work even better and translate the same to their students at their institutions. For Eastlands College of Technology, this was second training this year coming two months after the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) and Onboard Diagnostic (OBD) training earlier on.
Mr. Patrick Githinji, the head of Department, Automotive Engineering commenting after the end of the training pointed out that such like training were very important for Eastlands College of Technology especially owing to the fact that the college is the only institutions in the country striving to implement the Dual Training System (DTS).

The DTS has three key stakeholders who are necessary for its proper implementation. They include: the training institution, the companies where students work and experts who come on board to supplement and capacity build the trainers. It was a one week event which came to an end on Friday 7th April 7, 2017.
