Digging the Changing Rooms Foundation
On June 17th 2017, students from Viaro School, Barcelona, Spain landed in Nairobi, Kenya. They headed straight to Eastlands College of Technology where they would stay for two weeks while in Kenya. The group was made up of 30 people and were in Kenya for a work-camp.
The work-camp would mainly involve two main activities: digging and laying of the foundation for the changing rooms at the Eastlands College of Technology fields as well as repainting the building walls at Baldo Ippolita Catholic hospital in Pipeline Estate, Nairobi Kenya.

ensured that the work was successfully completed. The workcamp consisted of working in the morning hours and in the evening engaging in sports or visiting the poor in the slums. Football matches were organized within the College and also outside. In the College they played against Eastlands College students while engaging Stathmore School and Ofafa Jericho High School externally: Strathmore School were thrashed 6-1 and Ofafa Jericho High School conceded 3-4. The schools would eventually be given free soccer jerseys by the visitors after the matches.
Viaro, ECT visit to the poor.
Visits to the poor involved going to Sinai Slums where they entertained the kids and adults with music and dances. Such like fiestas usually would bring all the activities in the slum to a standstill. The Viaro team also donated food stuff and clothing to people in the neighborhood.
On the eve of their departure day back to Europe, they spent time with the kids of Baldo Ippolita Primary School, Pipeline in Nairobi where they had been painting the walls. It was a colorful and fun-filled day for all who were present.
They left on 1st of July back to Europe. Most of them wishing time to be extended.
