On Friday 19th August 2016, Eastlands College of Technology in partnership with Safaricom hosted a soccer tournament in the college grounds. This event attracted sixteen teams namely Bristol FC, YMCA FC, Bundes FC, Jacaranda FC, Rada FC 1, Shauri SP FC, Nyayo FC, St Steven, BAT FC, Amazon, TYC FC, Cathmo FC, De Blue FC, EC FC, Shauri UTD FC and Rada FC 2. The event was a colorful one with stiff competition amongst the participating Teams. Each match comprised of fourteen players; seven aside.
The teams battled it out in the college ground which was divided into four pitches. Each participating team had to win at least two games which would in turn give them a chance to continue to the next level.
The tournament continued up to around 6:30 pm and the final match was between St Steven and Cathmore FC. St Steven won the tournament and they were given an overall winning prize. Eastlands College of Technology aims at reaching out to youths by empowering them. Sporting as an activity is one of the Reach out Program.
