Austrian Foreign Ministry Visits ECT

Thursday evening at around 4:20 pm was a moment of activities in Eastlands College of Technology. This was due to the Austrian Foreign Minister’s visit to Kenya and thereafter to the College.

The visit comprised of two groups of which the first one was a group of Austrian Journalists led by Austrian chamber of commerce. The visitors were received by the College’s administrative team which was led by Mr. Andrew Olea, Project Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Oduor Finance Administrative Director, Mr. Jeremiah Siang’ani the Registrar and Industrial Coordinator and Mr. Emmanuel Choge Assistant Project Manager. The visitors were given a College tour. They visited the workshop building and got students doing their practical lessons in Electrical installation, Solar installation and Automotive technology in the respective workshops. The visitors were then led to the classroom block building where they were taken to the computer lab. Mr. Andrew talked about the inclusion of ICT to all technical courses in all levels.

55 minutes later a second group comprising of three dignitaries arrived at around 5:15 pm. Among the group was  Ambassador Christian Ebner who came on behalf of the Austrian Foreign Minister, Dr. Walter Koren, Director General of Austrian Trade and Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Mr. Bernhard Weber, Managing Director of ICEP. They were sent to represent the minister who could not make it to the College. They were also given a College tour which was led by Mr. Andrew and thereafter left the College premises at 7:03 pm.
