Eastlands College of Technology has been trying in the last few years to fill in the skill vacuum that exist in the industry through its mission which is to serve the formal and informal industry by providing manpower with vocational, industrial and entrepreneurial education, and through its vision which is to be a training institution that is a point of reference for industries seeking skilled manpower with the competencies required by the business. Under it, each student has two areas of training the college and the industry At the moment, many companies have been forced to come up with their own training schools to take care of the missing skills, required by the industry but the College has managed to close this gap by working with a number of companies for partnerships with great success. They include Simba Colt Motors, ISUZU East Africa, Paytech, Questworks, among others. The College focuses on the under privileged youth who benefit immediately from such arrangements. This not withstanding, we still take students from all walks of life. 2021 proved to be a remarkable year for the College, with the launch of the dual training manual with the German chamber of commerce for skilled craft, AHK. The College was also selected by TVET in developing the competency based curriculum. This included Manual Arc welding and instrumentation and control. 80%
